This simple Thai salad is not only visibly gorgeous and beautiful smelling but also we will do good to our health if we eat it with our without meat. It is an excellent summer side dish for grilled meat but we can as well serve it with striped fried chicken breast. It is important to buy ripe mango, the rest are seasonal vegetables so they are delicious anyways. I always try to use bio vegetables.
I have bought some spring parsnips that was full of parsley. This gave the idea to cook a cream soup out of it. The fresh characteristic taste of the parsley was well compensated with the butter and the cream. The garlic crouton harmonizes well with the soup.
This pancake is a real color orgy on the plate. And the taste highers the exerience. Everything harmonizes real well. I recommend it to even those people who do not like spinach. This is a delicious spinach pancake, cottage cheese and the garlic fit well with the spinach.
I have also tried this dip first time in the US. I am not so keen on blue cheese itself; however, I like this dip because the cream cheese we add nicely smoothens the intensity and bitterness of the blue cheese. It is served with spicy chicken wings, French fries or with steak potatoes in the US. They also serve it with celery and carrot sticks as finger food or appetizer. That is also my recommendation this time.
I got the idea of the violet jelly from Gizi from a comment on one of my cakes, so I have made mine according to her recipe only with a bit of a difference. During our dog walk in one of the mornings we picked two bowls of violet flower heads in the forest. From this amount of flowers I could fill 6 times a 250 ml bottles. To my pleasure, my husband got into the mood of helping me with this project throughout. Violet jam is a real special jam/jelly so it can be a wonderful present too.

This dish brings good memories of my grandma. And of course the half done aluminum spoon that she used to make the dumplings with, as the spoon got half size (half of it was basically gone) by the dumplings making… Already the smell of my grandma’s soup was attarctive, but the taste was just incomparable. In my childhood we used to eat this tasty, filling and cheap dish after a good soup at my grandma’s. Some people also add a bit of baking powder too, it brings them a little higher. We like to eat it pure only with some salt however it can also be a nice side dish with a thick beef stew or with roasts too.
By us the black mussels is rare, you don’t really come across with. So we do not eat it every day. But if by any chance we find some fresh by the Fisherman’s we can easy put together a romantic white wine dinner. We have recently made some according to my own recipe with my husband. We have prepared in 20 mins a magical dish which I can recommend you for the coming Valentine day too. They say mussels are aphrodisiacs.
Beet-root has a gorgeous color, it is a valuable and healty winter vegetable. During the Xmas holidays, we can serve this dish as an easy appetizer.
