I used all parts of the beetroot during my cooking. I made a colorful spring salad where I put the beetroot itself and the stems. I blanched the stems and the leaves and I baked the beetroot itself. The end result is very tasty and it is also very healthy. This dish is a perfect choice, even if you have guests since it is served cold so we can prepare it in advance.
I have bought some spring parsnips that was full of parsley. This gave the idea to cook a cream soup out of it. The fresh characteristic taste of the parsley was well compensated with the butter and the cream. The garlic crouton harmonizes well with the soup.
In the US it is a must to have coleslaw coming with your burger & fries order since it is well balancing the heavier dishes with its acidity, freshness and colorful look. On top of all, it is an excellent source of vitamins. Coleslaw is an exciting side dish or salad. The choice of the cabbage depends on our taste. I recommend to make it from two different types and colors, from red and white. We can as well add some savoy cabbage too if we like.
I have renewed a bit a regular carrot cake recipe. I am sure I will re-bake this recipe a couple more times as it is really delicious, even on the second or the third day for a good breakfast.
Beef hunter style used to be one of my childhood’s favorite dishes and it did stay so, because my dad used to make it always very tasty. I wanted to show you with the platting that from this dish you can make out a real festive dish. My hunter style beef is different from others in that I serve also caramelized vegetables (the same as there are in the sauce) with it.
This dish brings good memories of my grandma. And of course the half done aluminum spoon that she used to make the dumplings with, as the spoon got half size (half of it was basically gone) by the dumplings making… Already the smell of my grandma’s soup was attarctive, but the taste was just incomparable. This can be a main dish for people on fasting. But the others will not miss meat from this vegetable soup dish either.
In winter we cannot get bored of soups. I would like to recommend you now a soup that does not only keep you warm but it is also healthy. You can also make it without sausage, I like to cook it in in a lot of soups in winter for its taste.
From twelfth-night till cremation is the time of carnival. This the time to party to attend balls, eat and drink. So the traditional meals this time of the year contain a lot of meat so that after drinking alcohol, these heavier dishes can help to settle the stomach, body and the soul when you are having hangover. Let’s start the carnival dishes with a traditional smoked pork leg soup, which I had learnt how to make from my dear father, so cooking it brings back nice memories too.
This is a real good healthy soup. I did not overcook the vegetables because this is how we like it.
This soup is an excellent comfort food after the Christmas period, from more of its advantages just to mention its enter cleaning effects. If we want to focus on cleaning our body, then just leave the meat out. There are several types of lentils. there is e.g. beluga lentils, that is small and dark colored, puy lentil, that is also smaller you can buy it in different colors. This time, since the holidays, I made my soup from gourmet mountain lentils, this also a smaller type. This soup is an excellent choice also for New Year’s Eve. I am sure I will make it again then since I could not go to bed on the 1st without eating lentils.
