I have bought some spring parsnips that was full of parsley. This gave the idea to cook a cream soup out of it. The fresh characteristic taste of the parsley was well compensated with the butter and the cream. The garlic crouton harmonizes well with the soup.
This pancake is a real color orgy on the plate. And the taste highers the exerience. Everything harmonizes real well. I recommend it to even those people who do not like spinach. This is a delicious spinach pancake, cottage cheese and the garlic fit well with the spinach.
Kale & potatoes used to be not one of my favorite childhood dishes but by now I got to like it so much that I make it quite a lot. My German husband does not like our Hungarian style vegetable sauces so to him I always „sell them as a thicker soup. This is a real good healthy soup. I did not overcook the vegetables because this is how we like it.
My mum makes the most delicious sour cabbage & stew that is why mine tastes similar to hers. This can be an excellent dish in between the holidays since it is does not take too long to make it, and it is a bit like kocsonya, we can eat it for days and it does last for days. It is on top of all, an excellent immune strengthener therefore I only wash it through once before cooking so that all the good beneficial vitamins stay in there.
This used to be a feast dish during our visits in the Christmas time at my grandma’s. But of course my grandma was not serving it with pumpkin cream, she served it with lots of onion and potatoes baked together with the meat in the fat. Nonetheless, the fat we shall need. We are going to use a lot of mangalica lard. Potatoes we only put in a few just for the tradition, . We can make a rillettes from the rest of the meat and fat which can be an excellent breakfast dish one of those lazy mornings with some fresh baguette or any other fresh bread. I cut up a lot of spring onions and radish to eat with.
So, this is going to be the a dish that will simply be amazing on the table at Christmas Eve, because our family members are going to love the taste. On top of all, it takes on time and effort to make it. Further more, it is a light dish, we can even have it if we are on diet, and this is also an advantage during the holiday feast.
