There are a few small tricks that is worth to stick to if we like to bake a high-rising sponge. We should definitely bolt the flour and not only once. We should do it only with the flour and then bolt it with the flour and the baking powder too. The egg white should never have egg yellow inside when we separate them because otherwise we cannot make a hard whip that we need. We should always add a pinch of salt to the egg white before we start to beat it. When we pour the sponge mix in the baking pot we should shake it with a fast movement so that the air can leave, and our sponge is not airy. We should never open the oven door during baking our sponge because otherwise it will not rise. We can either bake it in a cake form or a square pot. Anyways, we can create a great light-tasting holiday cake from this even for Easter. I have decorated my cake with strawberries but we can decorate it with some other fresh fruits too (berries mostly).
I got the idea of the violet jelly from Gizi from a comment on one of my cakes, so I have made mine according to her recipe only with a bit of a difference. During our dog walk in one of the mornings we picked two bowls of violet flower heads in the forest. From this amount of flowers I could fill 6 times a 250 ml bottles. To my pleasure, my husband got into the mood of helping me with this project throughout. Violet jam is a real special jam/jelly so it can be a wonderful present too.
This is not a low calorie snack but its advantage is that it can keep another day without getting dry. I recommend it for Easter for finger food for your family and guests. But of course we can prepare it any time we like. To make the dough is quite simple, and while you are baking it, you will have an inviting smell in your kitchen.
This is an excellent healthy snack between breakfast and lunch or just in the afternoon.
We can cook the goulash outside in nature, but if we do not have the opportunity for that, we can easy make it inside over the cooker too in a pot, it should be as tasty as outside. Together with the dumplings it will be a very filling dish. If we can, go outside and cook in nature, this could be a nice activity with your family together on Easter.
I am keen on kale. It is an excellent source of calcium and Vitamin A besides, it has also a high content of Vitamin B. The darker its color is the more intensive its taste is and the higher its chlorophyll content that is the hidden sun energy and source of life. Kale you can get all the year round and you can make so many different dishes out of it. Now I recommend you a simple layered kale that is not only colorful and good looking dish, but is is really delicious.
This a healthy and really tasty dish. The crispy home-made croutons and the celery chips are especially well going together with this creamy soup. This dish is a guarantee for the fact that celery roots harmonize well with nutmeg.
This dish brings good memories of my grandma. And of course the half done aluminum spoon that she used to make the dumplings with, as the spoon got half size (half of it was basically gone) by the dumplings making… Already the smell of my grandma’s soup was attarctive, but the taste was just incomparable. This can be a main dish for people on fasting. But the others will not miss meat from this vegetable soup dish either.
Kale & potatoes used to be not one of my favorite childhood dishes but by now I got to like it so much that I make it quite a lot. My German husband does not like our Hungarian style vegetable sauces so to him I always „sell them as a thicker soup. This vegetable sauce is special because I thicken it with its own vegetables and some sauce with a help of a mixer.
I like to bake pizza at home because it has a nice smell that brings an Italian mood into our kitchen. But it is also good to get rid of the leftovers of the fridge since we can put everything on the pizza just depending on our creativity. I had at home some beef at home (about 150 g), from which I have made a thick Bolognese sauce so part of the pizza I used that sauce. For the other part I have used some ham. I had some mushrooms, corn and a lot of cheese to put on.
